Prosper the clown

February 3, 2015 - single portrait

In a tiny circus, we met Prosper the clown.

At the end of his hilarious show, my daughters wanted to thank him and ask for a picture with him. When he saw my old camera, he agreed and asked me to send him the picture afterwards. We talked for a while and he explained me that his wife was at the hospital and he wanted to give her the picture.

When his show ends, Prosper seems to be a sad clown.

It’s kind of a sad story and a picture that tries to look funny but isn’t … I guess that’s the split face of a clown’s real life. Thank you so much for sharing.

  3. i think that all clowns are very sad people in their real life… beautiful portrait !

Lena, Vic, totally agree with you. it’s a complex portrait showing quite a bit of ambivalence.
